Would you like to be part of an organisation whose aim is to improve the quality of life for everyone in the UK?
At the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) we recognise that our success comes from attracting energetic and imaginative people, a reflection of our own values. In every area of our business we seek to nurture and respect our people to support each other to grow, succeed and enjoy work. It's about challenging complexity and bringing clarity, and building relationships that make a difference. We are bold and visionary; we believe that anything is possible at NPL.
We believe you are our future, and we have a passion for inspiring the next generation and growing our own talent.
After the success of our first three cohorts we are now looking for apprentices to join NPL in September 2016.
If you are a school leaver and have just completed either your GCSE's and/or A-Levels, have a passion for IT, science, engineering, finance or business we have an apprenticeship to suit you. You will continue learning and get paid at the same time, and will develop your skills with a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
During the apprenticeship, you will be part of a close-knit professional team working alongside world-leading scientists and other professionals across the lab. We’ll treat you like a grownup, you will have real responsibility from day one, and will become a valued member of our team.View available apprenticeships on our main vacancies list
We pride ourselves on the additional training we provide our apprentices. Our aim is to improve your confidence from day one; you will learn how to present and communicate effectively, how to manage your time, and how to work as part of a team. We want you to develop your self-awareness and your confidence, and our 2016 cohort will receive Mindfulness training.
What could happen next
There is no guarantee of a job at the end of your apprenticeship but a significant number of our apprentices have graduated and secured permanent roles with us, and some have secured part-funding towards a degree.
